Frist we started in warm weather and rode in T-Shirts until it started raining later in the afternoon. In Nowata we arrived at 4 pm in light rain and it was still arround 18 degrees celsius. From there to Bartlesville it was another 30 km, so we decided to go. But then, ten kilometers out of town we saw a black wall over the plains in front of us. Minutes later we had incredible northwind gusts and icy rain. The temperature must have droped at least 10 degrees Celsius in 2 minutes. We have never ever experienced something like this. We felt the power of the sky out here on a road, far from anywhere to go and get shelter. But, there was nothing we could do exept put all our raingear on and go on. After an hour we made it to Bartlesville, completly frozen, we wind was arround 0 degrees Celsius and still blowing strong. The first motel on the road we took and discovered that Frank´s feet were so frozen, that the had turned yellow.
The other happening was that Katrin´s Bionix stopped working halfway. That is really annoying, the system is unreliable and we both would not recommend anyone to do a trip like that with a electrical support. The problem now will be, how to get it fixed, nobody knows this system here.
