Toronto to Hamilton (81 km)

Stefi in Toronto, taking pictures

First we got Stef´s bike at Charlies Bikeshop and after some adjustments she was ready to go. The way out of Toronto was better than into Toronto and I must say, Toronto was a nice stay.
Again, it was along the lake and it was through a green ans lush parclandscape the whole way. Hard to believe but true. It were either parcs or living areas looking like parcs. It seemed as if all wealthy citizens of Canada live along that lakeshore, so beautiful and sometimes big are the houses.
Again we enjoyed wonderful sunshine, light wind from the side so for Stefi it was not too tough. For Katrin and me it was like a little walk, it showed us how fit we have become during these last weeks.
As usuall we had our little lunchbreak about half way in Oakville. While we were sitting and enjoying salad and coffee, 2 buses arrived. They were painted with slogans: Change and Hudak! Its election time in Ontario, this week the vote will take place and the candidates are shaking every voters hand they can reach. So here, Mr. Hudak bought flower for someone, about 10 photografers and 2 TV stations covered the uneventful event and thé candidate shook exactly those hands that make good pictures: A handicapped person, a women with her baby, a very beautiful lady but no sweaty bikers like me! Funny to watch. I didn´t like the guy, he looked at me and he seemed unreal and not himself.
Looking for a hotel in Hamiltoon proved to be very tough, traveling with 3 in a party requires either two rooms or more beds in the room. Surprisingly most b&B on the way are full and even the hotels are extremly well booked, so today we were really lucky to find a place to stay in a hotel. And even the bikes had to come up to the room to stay with us overnight!
